The Transforming Jetty Road Glenelg project will elevate Glenelg as Adelaide’s premiere coastal shopping, dining and entertainment destination. This once-in-a-generation development will preserve Jetty Road’s unique culture and history, while also future-proofing it for generations to come.
The project will transform the precinct into a modern, safe, vibrant and accessible destination for all who live here and visit.
Support for businesses
The City of Holdfast Bay is providing a range of support measures for Jetty Road Glenelg traders during the redevelopment works. These include promotional initiatives such as the Celebrate Local – Shop Local campaign, cost-matching Shop Improvement Grants of up to $5,000 for upgrades, and smaller micro grants to help with in-store events or promotions.
Businesses can also access e-commerce and sustainability grants, free mentoring, pop-up retail opportunities, and directory updates to strengthen their visibility. Practical support is offered through parking permits, relaxed outdoor trading rules, hardship relief, and referral to the Small Business Commissioner.
Collectively, these programs aim to reduce disruption, encourage patronage, and help businesses adapt and thrive throughout the project.

Southern Business Mentoring Program support
Learn how to maximise opportunities for your business as the City of Holdfast Bay transforms Jetty Road.
A dedicated team of business mentors are available free of charge to Holdfast Bay businesses. Eligible businesses can access up to 11 hours of support in digital marketing, business advice, retail, operational excellence, tourism, and business wellbeing. Businesses are eligible to access one or a range of these mentoring supports.
